Plot: The perfect "mechanicals" from another planet make humans unnecessary, and they are always "at your service." The year is 2006. Housework has been made easy by robots (or as referred to in this story, 'mechanicals') who make coffee, wash the dishes, and have a mysterious agenda.

Jack Williamson (b. 04/1908 - d. 11/2006), is often referred to as the “Dean of Science Fiction,” and was one of the first to use the term, “genetic engineering.”
